JAMMU, Apr 13: A Special Police Officer (SPO) was seriously injured after a youth hit him on his head with cricket bat at village Tipperi under the jurisdiction of Gandoh police station in Doda district this afternoon.
SSP Doda Arif Reshu said SPO Kikker Singh, posted at Tipperi Police Post objected to cricket match being played by the local youth in a ground close to his fields causing damage to his crop.
After a tiff, a youth Sanjay Kumar hit the SPO with a bat on his head causing him serious injuries.
Police shifted the injured to Gandoh hospital from where he was referred to Government Medical College hospital, Jammu.
Police have arrested Sanjay Kumar and his associate and registered a case against them.
