Cyber Police hands over recovered cell phones to owners

Srinagar, June 30: Cyber Police today handed over missing mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees to their owners.
Police said that in order to extend the services to the general public and to redress their grievances, Cyber Police Station, Kashmir Zone, Srinagar have traced and recovered 16 missing mobile phones worth lakhs of rupees.
“Cyber Police Kashmir is receiving applications/reports from various persons about missing of their cell phones. This apart various online frauds, scams and other Cyber related crimes are also reported in Cyber Police on routine basis which are investigated properly”, Police said.
“A constant effort is made by Cyber Police Kashmir through special teams to investigate such crimes besides tracing such missing mobile phones by using various advanced technical and conventional methods.
The Cyber Police therefore remains on the forefront in helping the citizens in various technological challenges being faced by the users in their daily life”, Police added.
They said that Cyber Police Kashmir was successful in its efforts by tracing 16 such missing cell phone of various makes and models worth lakhs.
“The traced cell phones were accordingly recovered and thereafter handed over to the rightful owners today at Cyber Police Station Headquarters Srinagar”, they added.
Police said that on the direction of IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, various awareness campaigns and programs have also been initiated by the Cyber Police Kashmir, wherein general public is made aware about various contemporary online frauds and scams etc.
