JAMMU, July 1: Continuing the drive to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu City, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) visited Goshalla situated at Amphalla (Ward Number 17) and kick started works of construction of drains and laying of tiles.
The Mayor was accompanied by Advocate Purnima Sharma (Deputy Mayor, JMC), Nidhi Magotra (Councilor of Ward Number 17) and Balwan Singh (senior BJP leader).
Raj Kumar Langer (caretaker of Goshalla), Arun Gupta (Executive Engineer), Ram Lal (Assistant Executive Engineer), Sushil Mangotra (Junior Engineer) and concerned contractor were also present.
Mayor was apprised by the concerned engineering wing that the development works in terms of construction of drains as well as laying of tiles within the vicinity of Goshalla was delayed only due to Corona virus lockdown and non availability of workers/labourers as well as shortage of required number of construction material.
Speaking to the local inhabitants, the Mayor said that an amount of Rs 7.33 lakh has already been allotted for the execution of these development works. He said that these development works will further improve the overall condition of the Goshalla where stray and sick cows are properly looked after and given best medical treatment whenever required.
The Mayor directed the engineering division to expedite the development work and complete it with in stipulated time period up to the satisfaction of Goshalla management with best quality material so that it will become a modern Goshalla of Jammu. He also appealed the prominent citizens to donate as much as possible so that other left over facilities be made available for the betterment of the Goshalla.
