SAMBA, July 1: A pedestrian was killed in road mishap after hit by an unknown vehicle at New Bus Stand here, today.
The mishap occurred at Jammu-Pathankot National Highway at New Bus Stand here when an unknown vehicle hit the pedestrian. After the incident the driver of the vehicle fled from spot along with vehicle leaving the injured person in the pool of blood.
The pedestrian who received critical injuries was rushed to District Hospital Samba for treatment but doctors at the hospital declared him as brought dead. The body of the deceased was taken to the mortuary room of the hospital for autopsy. After completion the legal formalities it was handover to its legal heirs for his last rites.
The deceased has been identified as Teashwar Singh, 49 son of Late Rajinder Singh resident of Ward No 5 Samba.
In this regard police has taken cognizance of the matter and started further investigations.
