Safai Karamcharis’  protest enters 3rd day

UDHAMPUR, July 3: The protest of Safai Karamcharis of Municipal Committee Udhampur entered 3rd consecutuive day today.
The Safari Karamcharis under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh Udhampur assembled in front of the office of Municipal Committee Udhampur and started protest. They were shouting slogans in support of their pending demands.
They were protesting against new recruitment process as announced by Service Selection Board. They said many of them are working for the last 15-20 years and they will not face exam beig held for Class IV vacancies. They demanded their regularization.
They said 99 percent of the Safai Karmcharis are illiterate and Service Selection Borad is demanding qualified and literate workers. They said all the daily wagers /Safai Karmcharis be turned permanent. They also demanded implementation of minimum wages Act as per other UTs, clearance of all pending cases SRO 43, room for Safai Karmcharis in Municipal Committee, clearance of pending arrears of 7th Pay Commission and grant of extra 2 and half days wages to all Safai Karmcharis.
