JAMMU, July 4: In separate cases, two persons including a 24-year-old young boy allegedly ended their lives by hanging themselves in outskirts of Jammu.
“Akshay Sharma (24) son of Ashok Kumar Sharma, resident of Sangrampur (Ward number 75) was found hanging this morning at a flour mill (Atta Chakki) run by his family near his residence,” a police official said.
He said without informing the police, the family was going to do last rites of the deceased but the police reached the spot after getting information from its sources and shifted the body to GMC Jammu, where after getting conducted postmortem, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
“Domana police has initiated inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC in this connection,” the official added.
Meanwhile, another man namely Satish Kumar (40) son of Charan Dass, resident of Miran Sahib was found hanging in his rented accommodation at Shankar Colony (Gangyal).
According to the police sources, the body of Satish was found hanging with ceiling fan this morning. “The body has been handed over to the family after postmortem while inquest proceeding in this connection was initiated by Gangyal police,” they added.
