JAMMU, July 6: Jammu Kashmir Reserve Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) has strongly criticized BJP SC Morcha leaders for allegedly misleading SC masses in J&K by virtue of putting false claims that overall condition of SCs has tremendously improved under Modi dispensation in last six years.
While addressing a press conference, here today, the JKRCEA alleged that Modi Government never talked on the issues of SC/ST component plans and practically implementing welfare measures for SC/STs as enshrined in Constitution of India. “Above all, whenever atrocities on Dalits happen, none of the BJP leaders open their mouth. The democratic values have been sidelined and a sort of dictatorial democracy has fast gained ground in India,” they added.
Prof G L Thapa said that SC/STs and OBCs had pinned hopes that after the abrogation of Article 370 there shall be extension of all the Constitutional provisions to J&K, but in reality, the atrocities on SC/STs have increased several folds starting from a girl child’s rape and murder in Hiranagar, atrocities on Dalit women Sarpanches in Doda and Kishtwar and now murder of a youth from Udhampur by the goons backed by a political party.
“The promises made by PM Modi have totally turned out to be false but now the BJP is using its SC/ST pimps and projecting them as BJP SC Morcha leaders who are selling lies to the SC masses. Similarly ST leaders in BJP are also working as stooges,” he alleged.
Sham Lal Basson, Head of socio-religious wing of JKRCEA, urged the LG of JK UT to get all the Constitutional provisions implemented on ground in JK UT, like SC/ST Atrocities Act, Reservation in Promotions, 27 percent reservation to OBCs and all other provisions as envisaged in CoI for the welfare of SC/ST/OBCs.
Bodh Raj Bhagat, All India Senior Vice President of Bhagat Mahasabha, said that even after more than seventy years of independence, the atrocities on SC/ST have not vanished. “The murder of a 24 year youth in Udhampur is live example. The sick and castesist mind set of upper caste people is well gauzed from the fact that even in Government sector, the highly placed SC/ST/OBC officers are not treated respectfully,” he alleged.
Others who attended the press conference, included Mohinder Bhagat, T C Bavouria, Som Raj Taroch, Samsher Chand Ballon, Prof Kali Dass, M L Banalia and others.
