JAMMU, Apr 14: The J&K Freedom Fighters Association today remembered martyrs of Jalianwala Bagh, General Zorawar Singh and Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar by organizing a simple but impressive function at DBN Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi.
On the occasion floral tributes were paid to the martyrs amidst slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Baba Saheb Amar Rahe, etc.
Ex MLA Mohd Sayeed Akhoon was the chief guest on the occasion while Director Citizens’ Cooperative Bank Charanjit Singh was the guest of honour.
The speakers stressed the need to follow the path shown by freedom fighters and remember their sacrifices. They asked the people to unitedly fight against poverty, nepotism and corruption.
The function was organized by Ved Gandotra and attended by Suresh Sharma, S Gajan Singh, Sukhminder Singh Maini, Indu Puri, B L Gupta, Sushil, Vijay Bhagat and others.
