JAMMU, July 7: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir president, Ravinder Raina in consultation with party general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul and other senior leaders of the party nominated former Minister, Sukhnandan Choudhary as head of the BJP Panchayati Raj Cell for J&K.
MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP vice-president, Yudhvir Sethi, party general secretary, Dr. D K Manyal former Minister, Shakti Parihar, Gopal Mahajan and others were also present on the occasion.
Ravinder Raina made the announcement at BJP head Office Trikuta Nagar and felicitated Sukhnandan Choudhary for the new responsibility.
Sukhnandan Choudhary has remained 2 times MLA and during the last coalition government he was the Cabinet Minister have PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Department.
The aim and objective of the Cell is to strengthen the grass root level democracy and to facilitate the elected Panchs, Sarpanchs and BDC chairpersons. Also the motto is to resolve the issues lying pending with the various departments especially Rural Development Department.
