JAMMU, July 7: One person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident occurred in RS Pura area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the mishap occurred this evening when a speeding tractor which was on its way from RS Pura to Chakroi, hit a motorcycle coming from opposite side.
He said in the mishap, bike rider Gulshan Kumar (40) son of Tej Ram, resident of Digiana, and pillion rider, Bimla Devi (50) wife of Kartar Chand of Digiana, received injuries while another pillion rider namely Chanchla Devi (45) wife of Booti Ram, resident of Digiana, died on the spot.
The injured persons were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment while the body of the deceased was shifted in mortuary room of CHC RS Pura for conducting postmortem tomorrow.
In this connection, a case under relevant sections was registered at police station RS Pura and efforts were on to nab the tractor driver who fled from the spot after committing crime.
