HM module busted, Panch arrested

Srinagar, Apr 14: Police today arrested two members of a Hizbul Mujahideen module in South Kashmir by arresting two persons including a Panch while two active militants accompanying them gave slip to the security forces and fled under the cover of darkness.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bijbehara Shridhar Patil told Excelsior that last night they arrested two persons Mohammad Amin Khanday, a Panchayat member of Banderpira Anantnag and a released HM militant Mohammad Abbas Sheikh of Qaimo in district Kulgam.
Patil said that the duo was arrested after the security forces laid an ambush near Banderpora village in Srigufwara area of Anantnag last night at around 8:30 p.m. He said that two of their accomplices who are active militants of Hizbul Mujahideen, however, gave slip to the security forces and fled under the cover of darkness.
The SDPO said that the two militants who were accompanying them are involved in various militancy related incidents in South Kashmir. He said that hunt to nab them is going on. He said that a case has been registered and investigations are on.
