Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees for reopening of religious places

SRINAGAR, July 8: Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees in 6 Valley districts today appealed to the authorities to reopen all the religious places in Kashmir with adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The office bearers said that the way the gardens, parks and tourist places have been allowed to open, in the same way, “all the religious places shall be thrown open for the public with the adherence to the SOPs,” they said.
They said that in the times of COVID-19 the people should also make sure that they follow the precautions published time to time and make sure that they take care of themselves along with others.
The Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees also demanded that the tenure of the Committee which is set to end soon should be extended or the early elections should be conducted so that the works carried out by the Committees do not suffer.
“The time period of our committees is set to expire; we are demanding an early election or these committees shall be allowed to proceed further legally. We will not accept any selection, or the interference of any officials in the committees,” they said.
