SRINAGAR, July 8: The unemployed dental surgeons of Jammu and Kashmir today assembled at Press Enclave to highlight their pain of un employment.
While raising slogans against the Government, the protesting unemployed dental surgeons demanded absorption of all unemployed dental surgeons and urged the Lt Governor G C Murmu to personally intervene in this grave issue.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ruqsana, one of the dental surgeons said that no post has been created or advertized for last 12 years for dental surgeons. She said that the file of creation of posts is eating dust in the corridors of bureaucracy for last so many years and no action has been taken so far.
“Almost five thousand dental surgeons are moving from pillar to post for the job and most of them have even crossed the upper age limit for any Government job,” she added.
Another unemployed dental surgeon, Dr Auqib said if there is no need of dental surgeons then what is the fun of establishing dental colleges. “After ruining our lives authorities concerned are now acting as mute spectators,” he said and demanded adjustment of all unemployed dental surgeons via different schemes vis-à-vis PSC, NHM and NCD.
The protesting dental surgeons warned the Government that if their demands are not met, they will resort to mass agitation. The protest was jointly organized by DSA JK and SDS JK and supported by the Federation of Gazetted Dental Surgeons.
