JAMMU, July 11: Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (MD JKRTC), Angrez Singh Rana, today conducted a surprise inspection of Tourist Fleet Workshop (TFW), Jammu.
During the inspection, the MD found almost all of the employees of the Workshop working in the Ist shift absent from duty except Munawer Lone, Assistant Fitter, Jamna Dass, Mechanic and Joginder Kumar Electrician. He ordered for withholding the salary of the absentees for unauthorised absence from their legitimate duties.
It was also observed that some technicians of the rank of Fitter and Assistant Fitters were working in the workshop office while as their services should have been utilized in the workshop against the substantive posts.
Further, General Manager (Mech) JKRTC, Jammu has been asked to ensure utilization of services of employees working in workshop office against the substantive posts.
MD also asked the GM to explain the reason for posting of only 4 technicians in the second shift for execution of repair job of vehicles reporting late in the evening after performing duty on long routes. He has been asked to submit his reply within two days positively failing which administrative action as warranted under rules shall be initiated.
Further, the MD issued a separate order wherein a penalty of Rs. 45,621 has been imposed on Bakhtawar Singh Conductor recoverable from his salary for indulging into the act of misappropriation of Corporation revenue and gross negligence of legitimate duties. The conductor has been transferred and posted at Depot Doda and has been asked to furnish an undertaking that he will not repeat similar practice in future.
