UDHAMPUR, July 11: The proprietors of Health Clubs (gyms) under the banner of Gyms Association held protest here today.
The demonstration was led by senior Congress leader Sumeet Magotra.
The demonstrators were raising slogans against Government for not granting permission to them to operate, due to which they are facing many hardships.
While talking to media persons, Magotra disclosed that during lockdown in the country due to coronavirus, Government of India viz State and UT Governments imposed lockdown. Union Government issued new guideline and permitted few trades to operate, but restricted the gyms to operate, he said.
Magotra disclosed that it is established that strong immune system of the human body is strong weapon in fight against coronavirus and doing exercises in gyms, the youth make their immunity strong.
He also said that majority gyms owners are the young entrepreneurs, who operate their ventures to feed their family.
“It is unfortunate that Government is not serious to take the favorable decision in connection with gyms of whole country”, he added.
He appealed to the Government to take grievances of gyms owners seriously and permit them to start their business otherwise the gyms owners and the local youth will initiate a movement against the callous attitude of the Government.
