JAMMU, July 13: Former Deputy Chief Minister and Ex MLA, Gandhi Nagar constituency, Kavinder Gupta, along with Vinay Kumar Gupta, BJP district president Jammu, former MLC Ch.Vikram Randhawa and councillor Sharda Kumari, toured Bahu Fort, Booti Mohalla and Kacha Talab in Ward 47 and started works including that of laying of pipe line of Water Supply Schemes, repair of roads, Sewerage system, fixing street lights and up gradation/ repair of lanes and drains.
Kavinder Gupta started work of Water Supply Scheme and other projects in these areas of Ward No.47, where the people were suffering due to shortage of water and with the newly taken up WSS, the residents would be getting adequate supply of water.
On the occasion, Gupta said that the directions have already been passed to the concerned ones for identification of habitations where there is shortage of water and also they were asked to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) where either the over head tanks or the bore wells are required and submit the same to the Government for accord of necessary arrangement of funds.
Kavinder Gupta said that BJP is committed to provide all basic amenities like adequate drinking water, power, education, healthcare facilities and other civic facilities to the people. He said that it is the responsibility of the concerned officers and engineers to conduct field survey and project plans on priority. Referring to the developmental works under execution in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Gupta said that the construction of various developmental projects are in progress and on completion of these schemes, it will change the socio-economic conditions of the people of the area.
Interacting with the people, Kavinder Gupta said that development programmes have been launched in the constituency with the aim to provide better amenities to the people. Local people projected charter of demands which included construction and up-gradation of lanes and drains, repair of damaged roads in area. Gupta assured them that work on all the approved projects will be started as early as possible.
Gupta said, “We have distributed ration to the needy and poor people as BJP is wedded to serve the cause of people”. He stressed for special support for vulnerable groups and individuals, those with underlying health conditions, disabled people, and people with mental health problems and homeless people.
Gupta also batted for financial compensation to low income people who suffered due to continued lockdown.
