As cases surge, scribes tested for immunoglobulin

Srinagar, July 15: As COVID-19 cases surge in Kashmir, the samples of the journalists were today collected at Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar in order to be tested for immunoglobulin (IgG).
The authorities had already launched a drive to test the people such as doctors, paramedics and those who are vulnerable amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
As a part of the vulnerable group, the samples of the journalists were collected here.
“It is a good step, it will tell us if we ever had any caught the infection, in case we develop anti bodies; all the journalists should come forward and take this test,” Farooq Javaid, a photojournalist said.
Senior journalist, Sheikh Tariq suggested that the administration should arrange such drives for the journalists once in a month because after the healthcare workers, the journalists are the most.
“It is a good step; we want to thank the doctors and the paramedics; we cannot stay home, we have to go out and that makes us vulnerable; keeping that in view it should be arranged for us once in a while,” he said.
