Two injured in assault

JAMMU, July 17: Two persons were injured today in an assault by some miscreants in Chowki Choura area of Akhnoor.
Quoting the complainant namely Gurdev Singh of Qoor (Chowki Choura), a police official of police station Akhnoor said that Surjeet Singh and Joginder Singh (both uncles of the complainant) were on the way to their farms when five persons stopped their way and attacked with them a sharp edged weapon (Khokri).
The official said that both Surjeet and Joginder received injuries in the attack and were rushed to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor for treatment. “In this connection, a case FIR number 111 under Sections 341, 323/147 of IPC and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered at police station Akhnoor and further investigation started,” he added.
He further said that a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused persons namely Sanjay Singh, Ranjeet Singh and Gulshan Singh (trio sons of Pritam Singh of Qoor), Rajeev Singh son of Bagh Singh of Quoor and Gulshan Singh of RS Pura.
