Samba police fines 81 persons for not wearing face masks

SAMBA, July 17: Continuing its drive against the persons for not wearing face masks in violation of order issued by DM Samba, Samba police in its second consecutive day today booked 81 persons and imposed a fine of Rs 500/- on each of them for not wearing masks in public places.
Acting tough against the violators, Samba police today imposed fine on 81 persons across the district who were in the public places without wearing face masks, violating the relaxation conditions given by the district administration.
The wearing of face masks has been made mandatory for the general public as well as Government employees in district Samba as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID 19.
Samba Police has appealed to its citizens to wear masks strictly, take all the precautionary measures and follow all relaxation conditions to contain the spread of Corona Virus.
Police warned to take strict action against those who violate the SOPs and were seen moving without wearing the face masks.
It may be recalled that Samba police had yesterday fined 59 people for not wearing face masks while Kathua police had booked eight shopkeepers for violating COVID-19 rules.
