This has reference to the news item ‘A triple hundred’ for Dhoni as India look to consolidate lead’ DE Aug 31.
It is really a matter of pride for all of us that M S Dhoni played his 300th ODI. It is indeed a great milestone in the life of a cricketer, and one achieves it only coming across many hurdles during the way. A player witnesses many ups and downs during his career. But only those players have emerged and victorious who have braved injuries, humiliation and harassment with great courage and fortitude. Mr Dhoni too has his share of trials and tribulations. But he withstood these viccitudes with a calm and cool composure for which he is known among his colleagues and cricket fraternity. During his long career he gave a new direction to Indian cricket and took it to great heights. His contribution to cricket will remain etched in the cricket history in bold letters. Dhoni with his preseverance and dedication has joined the India’s elite club 300 which had Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azaruddin, Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh. Let Mr Dhoni remain a model for coming generation of cricketers.
