POONCH, July 16: Senior BJP leader and former Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli conducted a week- long tour of Rajouri, Budhal, Kalakote, Sunderbani and Poonch Haveli to engage with the Gujjar- Bakerwel community in these four Assembly constituencies.
During the tour, Kohli highlighted achievements of Modi Government, which include; elimination of the Inter-District recruitment policy, which previously restricted Gujjar- Bakerwal individuals from Jammu province from being recruited in Kashmir, implementation of the Forest Rights Act, free ration, provision of LPG cylinders through the Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Cards for medical facilities up to Rs 5 lakh, subsidy under the PM Awaas Yojana, tap water supply to every individual under the Jal Shakti program, assistance to poor families for girls’ marriage, Rs 6000 assistance to farmers under the agriculture program, extensive development funds for roads, tunnels, and development projects, Eklavya Model Schools, etc.
Kohli reached out to each corner of the areas where Gujjar- Bakerwal community is putting up. Members from other communities also attended these interaction meetings wherein people shared their issues and grievances regarding various departments.
The BJP leader listened to the people and assured that their grievances would be get addressed by contacting the concerned officers.
Accompanied by Riaz Ahmed Choudhary of BJP ST Morcha and others, Abdul Ghani Kohli visited Charangal-Kabukate, Dalyote, Trote, Sayal Sui, Upper Kawal near Kunderdaan, Chadhaan, Chingus, Dhanwa, Kalalkas Bindi, Pullian, Dasal, Salooni at block Sathra, Chandak, Khanater and other areas, including Narlan and Katre Jageer .
Objective of the tour was to explain party policies and highlight the welfare and development initiatives undertaken by Narendra Modi Government over the past ten years.
The response from the people was overwhelmingly positive, and the Gujjar leader was able to convenience the community members that all their issues would be addressed.
