Sir,
Refer news item “Bureaucrat couple offers to nurture”…. DE May 6, 2017. It is really an act of goodness , piety and broad mindedness on the part of the bureaucrat couple of IAS and IPS cadres who have offered to nurture 12 year old minor girl of martyr Ranjit Singh who was martyred by Pak army in Poonch district. Such an offer of bearing the educational expenses of the orphan girl shows that even in these days of chaos and confusion, when people have become too much materialistic, there exists such people who possess a humane heart and treading on the path shown by our prophets that the service of people especially of those who are helpless is the greatest service of God.
Although some NGOs are serving people in distress, helplessness and want yet there is a majority of needy people whose children are denied education because of being poor and such children are forced to work in hotels, factories and at other places when they should have been in schools. If the family members of this orphan girl agree to the wishes of the couple, she may one day occupy a suitable status in the family. By doing so they are not only helping the girl but also giving solace to the departed soul – Mr Paramjeet Singh. Let us learn a lesson from this gesture of humanity and serve God by serving his people.
Yours etc…
