JAMMU, Nov 9: A K Dewani a financial expert and a socio political activist breathed his last here, today after a brief illness. He was 78. Author of many books on financial and political affairs, Dewani was a person of great repute who added colours to the vast working arena in the field of finance.
His major contribution is the formation of Industrial Policy 2004. Starting his career as financial assistant he rose to the level of Director in Power Development Corporation. He has many books to his credit which touched various topics like financial discipline, budget control and budget powers.
He also headed the Hindu Educational Society Kashmir (HESK) for several years and was also founder member of Jammu Kashmir National Democratic Front (JKNDF) a political party floated by KPs which contested elections on various eats in Valley in 2008. His cremation will take place tomorrow. Various KP bodies have expressed profound grief and sorrow over his demise and recalled his services to the State and the community.
