Please refer to the news item regarding central legislation on ten percent reservation in favour economically poor sections of upper caste people. It has realised the long cherished dream of the poor sections of upper caste people who were otherwise quite unable to get any share in Government jobs due to very tough competition between the candidates belonging to reserved category on one hand, and those belonging to upper class sections of the society. In this context this bill concerning reservations on economic basis is a gift for all deserving youths belonging to lower class of the upper caste people. In fact, there was no justification for caste based reservations
However it is never too late to mend. There is still time to introduce the class based reservations instead of the existing caste based reservations so that justice is done to all deserving sections of the Indian society.
