AAP demands relief for affected farmers

Srinagar, May 13: Sudden hailstorm has caused havoc in several areas of Charar-i-sharief in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed its deep concern over this matter and has demanded that farmers should be compensated without any delay.
In a statement here AAP leader, Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat said that villages such as Buzgoo Nilnag, Lolipora, Watkaloo, Leddan, Brinjan, Goggee Pathree, Jeddan, Kutabal and Branwar experienced heavy hailstorm on Tuesday afternoon which almost destroyed the apple and pear crop completely in these areas. Dr Muzaffar has demanded that authorities from horticulture department should be immediately deputed to these areas to access the damages.
The farmers in these areas suffered losses few months back also due to heavy snowfall. Dr Muzaffar castigated the Government for having failed to take up the matter pertaining to damage caused by the snowfall with Govt of India.
