JAMMU, May 19: As people of Dogra Hall Street and adjoining areas in Jammu City are facing acute water scarcity in the scorching heat, Aam Aadmi Party led a protest demonstration of the locals, here today.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Senior Spokesperson , Jagdeep Singh and General secretary Partap Singh Jamwal led the protest by the locals, who raised slogans against the Jal Shakti Department and Jammu Municipal Corporation for their failure to provide regular water supply. The protesting people were carrying empty water pots.
The AAP leaders said that Dogra Hall and Ward number 8 were the worst affected by shortage of drinking water in the past many years. The prime reason for no water supply in the area is the blockage of main pipe lines at Dogra Hall but the concerned authorities have failed to take corrective measure, they added.
