BARI BRAHMANA, May 18: Workers of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and locals of village Platain, Narwal and Lower Birpur today held a protest demonstration against the Jal Shakti Department for no supply of drinking water in the area.
The protest was led by Rajesh Pargotra, Provincial Vice President of AAP Jammu. The protesting AAP workers and villagers raised slogans against the Jal Shakti Department officers holding them responsible for the acute shortage of drinking water and total failure to cater to the needs of the public for the last one year.
The protesting people alleged a nexus between the PHE authorities and private water tanker operators, who were supplying water at exuberant rates.
Rajesh Pargotra lashed out at the Government and PHE authorities for their failure to provide drinking water to people of the area. He threatened to ghero the concerned officers if the regular water supply is not restored immediately.
Prominent Among others who participated in the protest demonstration, included Khajur Singh (Ex-Sarpanch Bagla Rahya), Chotte Lal Sharma (district Vice president Samba AAP), Gautam Singh Bagal, Kalu Malik, Anwar Choudhary, Madan Lal, Ravi Shastri, Sat Pal, Tariq Choudhary, Parveen Akhtar, Yasmin Choudhary, Rasheed Choudhary, Dil Mohd., Beena Choudhary, Kadhir Malik, Majid Malik, Khalidh Malik, Vicky Thappa and Wasif Malik.
