The surprising success of AAP by pocketing 67 seats is a signal to all the political parties across the country about the fact that “the exercise of irresponsible Power by whatever means and the preposterous utterances in the public rallies or on the floor of the Parliament will not be tolerated any more. The voters have ultimately decided to live on their own conditions and choices. I don’t have any reason to appreciate the political acumen of the people of Delhi who have become emotionally attached with AAP and sided with it absolutely because I believe that Delhi better be governed by the same party as is there at the center. Only then the desired progress and development can be possible. History is witness to the fact that the public has ever been sandwiched between the ideological pulls and pressures. And the same pulls and pressures are clearly visible in Delhi now and we must not forget that earlier also Delhi received a rude jolt due to the ideological wedge between the Congress and the AAP. Yes, it might have been greatness of Kejriwal to quit the Chair in protest but the fact remains that this protest might have satiated the bloated ego of Mr. Kejriwal instead of giving something to the people of Delhi. As a result of all this stance of the AAP, the progress and the developmental process in the capital came to a stand-still. This time the ideological cleavage is absolutely unbridgeable. To me BJP is still the major and comparatively cleaner party on the national canvas at the moment and the BJP has proved it practically whereas the AAP has still to do so. The victory of AAP is not a proper touchstone to gauge up the worth of this national party. What brought the BJP to this plight in Delhi is basically the gap in between its sincere intentions for their people and their mode of expression. The BJP could not express itself in an amiable way among the masses. The abusive language at the rallies and the expression of hatred against Mr Kejriwal attaching disrespectful labels, has proved counter-productive for the BJP since such utterances sent a bad image of the BJP and motivated the wave in favour of the AAP. Such language can not be expected of the public representatives. Another blunder which the BJP committed is that they did not invite Mr. Kejriwal on the Republic Day. After all he had remained the CM of Delhi and was supposed to be invited to the Republic Day function. The inclusion of Kiran Bedi in BJP and her declaration as CMs candidate was another factor of BJP’s defeat in Delhi. Kiran-magic could not work. On the contrary Kiran Bedi’s rough language and arrogant gestures really put a great dent on BJP’s image. BJP’s arrogance has been rejected and Kejriwal’s pretended simplicity and his well-timed and tuned reactions have worked properly. The BJP, surfeited with the arrogance after winning the chair at the center, forgot to remain within the limits of equanimity. It was actually to be avoided. It is a matter of great surprise for me at least that the party like BJP, with all constructive and public oriented programmes, bearing a neat and clean character, has been compelled to gulp down the bitter droughts of discomfiture at the hands of a new and raw counterpart who has yet to prove its worth on the ground and who could not stick to the chair more than 49 days. It all happened despite the landing of 122 MPs and 17 Union Ministers including some of the CMs against a poor, home-spun, non-political and small cough-man or Muffler man. It is a great lesson not only for the BJP but for all other national as well as regional parties of India. I am Hats off to the people of Delhi and the people of Jammu and Kashmir including all other states also, for their realization of self-respect and a bold display of their psyche. It was the need of the hour, otherwise the people of this country have suffered all the worst since the dawn of Independence at the hands of these arrogant politicians. It has happened for the first time that the political arrogance has vehemently been denounced and defied by the voters in the elections. The Congress has been weeded out from every nook and corner of the country and even regional parties like national conference despite having a long stay in power has been pulled down so ruthlessly.
This is wonderful. Now it can be hoped that the real democracy will revive itself. Now politicians will have to join the language classes and learn how to speak properly. They must get a lesson at the proper and suitable use of words and phrases at least for their people. Even the slightest misuse of words can be fatal for their political career. The BJP needs introspection and immediate revising her style of politics and brogue of public speeches. If not controlled well in time, the future of the BJP can fall into a great disappointment. At the same time, this fact can’t be overlooked too that the coming days will not be honey-coloured for the AAP also since the AAP, as usual, has ensnared the people of Delhi in the delightful web of promises and commitments. The public of Delhi is looking forward to the fulfillment of these points enshrined in Party Manifesto. The following five years will be a great battlefield for the AAP and if the AAP withstands this acidic test of proving efficiency, it is likely to recapture the throne in Delhi otherwise in India there is a great choice of leadership and the next time the victory may fall into anybody else’s basket.
