Addressing a press conference, here today, former Minister Yashpal Kundal, who is Chairman ST, SC OBC Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) J&K and DDC Member Taranjit Singh Tony, who is Chairman AAP J&K for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs, accused the BJP Government at the Centre of playing with the future of people of Jammu and Kashmir by provide jobs to outsiders and selling the land to ‘non-state subjects’.
Citing the statement made by the concerned minister in the Lok Sabha claiming that 185 outsiders have bought land in the UT of J&K, the AAP leaders said that this is part of the ploy to make the people especially farmers landless and force them to work as labourers in their own state.
“The proxy Government of Centre working under the realm of LG Manoj Sinha in J&K is neglecting the local talent by offering jobs to outsiders in banks and other institutions besides appointing Vice Chancellors in universities from outside the region,” they said and maintained that it was unacceptable as local academia has been undermined under a well knit conspiracy. They said that ‘aboriginals’ of J&K are facing worst ever discrimination and prejudice at the hands of outsider LG, who has been imposed on the people by the BJP Government led by PM.
Kundal and Tony demanded that all the Vice Chancellors in the universities in J&K should be the sons or daughters of the soil as AAP will not tolerate such insult of the intellectuals belonging to the region. They also demanded that banking and semi Government jobs should also be protected for local youths of J&K.
The senior AAP leaders pointed out that nearly six toll plazas are operational in Jammu whereas in Kashmir, there is only one toll plaza, which speaks of discriminatory policy of the saffron party.
Surinder Singh Shingari, Women’s Wing President Namrata Sharma, Subhash Sharma, Amit Kapoor, Ravi Shastri, Pratap Singh Jamwal and Ch Jagdeep Singh were also present in the press conference and demanded blanket ban on Government jobs to the outsiders in J&K.
