Aarakshan Virodhi Party’s plea to Govt

JAMMU, Mar 28: Aarakshan Virodhi Party has urged upon the Government to immediately stop the discriminatory, illegal and unconstitutional provisions of reservation, quotas and privileges on caste and religion basis in the country.
While speaking in a meeting of the AVP members here today, president of the organization R P Sethi discussed in detail the newly constituted National Socially and educationally Backward Commission (NSEBC). Seth appealed the Govt to initiate essential steps for the removal of discriminatory, illegal and unconstitutional provisions of reservation/ quota on the basis of caste and religion.
He stressed upon the Govt to take legal steps to include needy, deserving economically backward families irrespective of their caste and religions within the preview of NSEBC. Seth pleaded for abolition of SC/ST Atrocity Act which has been misused. M L Narad, general secretary, Raj Kumar Banathia, Yashpal Sanson and M L Abrol also spoke on the occasion.
