JAMMU, Mar 12: The Aash Foundation celebrated the spirit of hope and resilience with the scholarship distribution ceremony for meritorious girl students, coming from humble backgrounds, here today
The Aash Foundation is dedicated to empowering education and supporting young minds. The scholarship distribution ceremony was in the memory of Mahek Warikoo, a bright and vibrant young girl whose life was tragically cut short.
The programme was attended by a galaxy of intellectuals, prominent activists and community leaders. Vijay Bakaya, the former Chief Secretary & Member Legislative Council, was the chief guest and Kuldeep Khoda, the former Director General of Police was the guest of honour. Their inspiring speeches reflected on Mahek’s love for life and learning.
While appreciating the work of the organization, they said that “Mahek’s story is a testament to the human spirit’s capacity for hope, resilience, and determination,”
The Chairman of The Aash Foundation, Ashok Kotha talked about the bonding he personally had for young Mahek. He said: “Through this ceremony, we aim to honor her memory, inspire young minds, and reaffirm our commitment to supporting education and empowering future generations.”
“The Aash Foundation is dedicated to keeping Mahek’s legacy alive by providing educational support, resources, and opportunities to deserving girl students. The organization believes that education is the key to unlocking the potential of young people and creating a happy world,” he added.
Seema Mattoo threw light on the multi-dimensional personality of Mahek. Renowned singer, Prof Kailash Mehra enthralled the guests by her soulful Bhajans. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Rakesh Hangloo, Secretary of the organization.
