SRINAGAR, June 21 : The husband-wife duo who are the sister and brother-in-law of an active Lashkar-e-Toiba militant were released a day after their abduction but were shot in the legs.

The sister, Nusrat Banoo, and brother in law, Mudasir Ahmad Makrooa of active LeT militant Nasir Ahmad Chadroo were abducted by militants from their house on Thursday afternoon.
The gunmen called the two outside their home in Makroo Mohalla of Arwani on Thursday afternoon and took them away in a car.
Both were released but were shot at by the militants shortly before their release in main market Arwani after Friday prayers.
The duo was shifted to Sub District Hospital Bijbehara for treatment. Mudasir was later referred to District Hospital Anantnag while as Nusrat was referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment. Both were abducted by militants. However, so far no militant group has claimed the responsibility of their abduction.
