Srinagar, Oct 13: Police today said it recovered a girl who was abducted from Kokernag area of Anantnag district.
A police spokesman said on October 3, police station Kokernag received a written complaint from one person that his sister has been kidnapped by one person (name withheld). “On this information, a report was lodged and investigation set into motion,” he said.
During the course of investigation, various raids were conducted by police at different locations, said the spokesman, adding that after strenuous efforts, the girl was recovered from Anantnag town at about 04:00 PM and the accused was arrested.
“After completion of all legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her family members. A case under FIR Number 169/2017 under Section 363, 109 RPC was registered against the accused and investigation was taken up,” he added.
