JAMMU: Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq today suspended two officials of Rural Development Department after receiving complaints against them from the public.
The minister ordered suspension of VLW Akhnoor Jagdeep Singh and Storekeeper Vijay Sharma after the Minister made a surprise visit to the Akhnoor block.
The Minister called for an inquiry against the officials and said that action will be taken against them if the complaints are proven right. He said there is no space for malpractices in the department and no such thing will be tolerated. He said government has zero tolerance against corruption and every step will be taken to ensure transparency in the department including showing exit door to some tainted officials.
Earlier after receiving complaints against particular officials, Minister made a surprise visit to the Akhnoor block and inspected the working of the BDO Office.
Minister also checked the attendance of the officials, bills and account details on spot and also inspected the store of the department besides checking the MIS, CIC Centre and Engineering wing of the department.
Abdul Haq stressed on the officials to work religiously so that the benefit of various schemes reach to the common public. He directed the officials to involve more unemployed and unskilled youth in schemes like MGNREGA so that they are benefitted for the schemes. He said it duty of the government to reach to the doorstep of an unemployed youth and motivate him to avail benefit of various state and centrally sponsored schemes.
