ABGP celebrates annual ‘Grahak Diwas’

JAMMU, Dec 27: Akhil Bharatiya  Grahak Panchayat (ABGP) is celebrating its annual day as ‘Grahak Diwas’ all over India  from   December 24 to 31.
The main programme was held in Jammu today  at  Ved Mandir, Amphalla. MLC Ramesh Arora was the chief guest, whereas the guest of honour was SC, ST, OBC Development Corporation Vice-Chairperson Balbir Ram Rattan and Amlendu Chattopadhya, National Assistant Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat was special invitee.
The function started with lighting of lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana and Grahak Geet, which was performed by the children of Bal-Bharti Niketan School. Kapil Dev Sharma, Sangathan Mantri, Jammu Province, delivered the welcome address during the program.
Ramesh Arora, in his address, said that the Central Government had presented a bill in  Parliament Session during 2015 to make the Consumers Protection Law effective and simplify but being existence of Section 3 of the proposed bill, exercising of amendment in the said law became ineffective. So, it is necessary for the Central Government to make amendments in the Section 3 of the Law, so that consumer may get proper justice and benefitted properly.
Arora also spoke on GST in detail and suggested that the Central Govt may simplify the GST in country so that people may not suffer more and there should be no confusion.
Vice Chairman SC, ST, OBC Development Corporation, Balbir Ram, Almendu Chattopadhya,  Kapil Dev Sharma, Thakur Dass , Vikram Singh, Ramesh Kumar  also spoke on various subjects related to the consumers.
Various J&K units of the organization are celebrating Grahak Diwas. A  massive programme was held at Kathua on December 25 and on December 26 at  Vijaypur in Samba district.
