JAMMU, May 13: Depart-ment of Students Welfare, University of Jammu today organized a unique cultural festival “Abhivyakti – 2016” in a competitive mode in which faculty members and officers of the University of Jammu presented their singing and writing talents.
Prof. R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor JU, was the chief guest at the valedictory function and he felicitated participating teachers and officers with mementoes. Prof Keshav Sharma, Registrar JU, was the guest of honour.
In Singing competition, Dr Neeraj Sharma, Prof Sushma Devi and Prof Arvind Jasrotia stood first, second and third respectively. In Antakshri, the team of Dr Komal Nagar and Dr Amisha stood first. Others who performed in various items included Prof Manoj Dhar, Prof Baba V K S Potukuchi , Prof Shiv Dev Singh Manhas, Prof Jasbir Singh, Dr Chandra Shekhar, Dr Sarita Sood, Dr Meghna Dhar, Dr Savita Nayyar, Dr A. R. Manhas, Dr Hema Gandotra, Dr Vishawr-aksha, Dr Yog Raj, Dr Jaspal Warbal, Dr Neelam Chowdhary, Dr Seema Lalotra and Manu Malhotra.
Kathak performance by Dr Priya Dutta was very much appreciated she was accompanied by Purshottam Kumar, Raj Kumar Behrupia and Vijay Verma. Another guest performance of Dogri Folk songs by Suraj Parkash was enjoyed by the audience. Sham Bhardwaj accompanied on Synthesizer.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Campus Cultural Committee.
