SRINAGAR: About 30 structures were gutted in a devastating fire on the bank of famed Dal Lake early this morning, official sources said.
They said fire broke out at Fisher Mohalla, Abi Nowpora, on the bank of Dal Lake. However, before the fire tenders could reach, 30 structures and other properties of fishermen were reduced to ashes.
“We have lost our everything, including cloths and utensils, in the fire,” the affected families said.
The cause of fire was not known yet, they said adding no one was injured. A senior leader of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and MLA Mohammad Khursheed Alam visited the affected families and provided them relief of Rs 2000 each. (agencies)
