Abrogation of Art 370, 35 A great tribute to Mookherjee, Praja Parishad martyrs: Khanna

JAMMU, Aug 7: BJP national vice president and incharge J&K, Avinash Rai Khanna while welcoming the decision of Union Government led by Narendra Modi to abrogate controversial Article 370 and 35 A as well as reorganisation of J&K State by creating two separate Union Territories has said the dream of founder of Bharatiya Jan Sangh (BJS) and great patriot, Dr Shayama Prasad Mookherjee has been fulfilled after 70 years.
In a statement issued here today, he said many people of the State including Dr Mookherjee sacrificed their lives during Praja Parishad Movement of 1953 for Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan and Ek Nishan and abrogation of Article 370, 35A and reorganisation of the State is a great tribute to them. He said this way the J&K was completely merged with Indian Union and all controversies have ended. This decision will also be a checkmate to the separatists and anti national elements who had raised their head in the State during last 70 years and misled the people for their vested political interests.
Khanna said the decision will also be a check on corrupt leaders who over the years looted the State exchequer and through the politics of blackmail.
The artificial barriers created between people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh were dismantled once for all and the three regions will tread on the path of development and prosperity.
Khanna cautioned the people against vested elements who are spreading canards as they have lost their hegemony and the people will now get the rid of dynastic rule as common masses of the erstwhile J&K State can also raise to the higher positions in Government now.
Khanna said the August 5 will be a golden day of the post independence period in the history of State and country. Khanna, while lauding the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah said that abrogation of the two articles was in poll manifesto of BJP and Party fulfilled its commitment made to the people of the nation.
He said the two articles were the cause of alienation in the State which will now end once for all and youth of the State will get ample employment opportunities in Government, public and private sector. He also allayed the fears that the people of two UTs will lose the job opportunities as the jobs will be grabbed by outsiders. Khanna said that people of the all thee regions will get preference in jobs which will be provided on the basis of domicile. He said all steps will be taken by the Government to protect the interests of the people of the three regions as welfare of the people of three regions has been the main agenda of his party.
