JAMMU, Mar 21: Akhil Bhartiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) Jammu & Kashmir today projected various issues of the teaching fraternity of the UT and demanded their early redressal.
Addressing a press conference along with other office bearers, UT general secretary of ABRSM Rattan Sharma demanded restoration of Old Pension Scheme. He said that the provisions under New Pension Scheme (NPS) are discriminative in nature and are criticized at large, keeping in view the financial insecurity to the employees in future.
He also emphasized on holding of DPC meeting for Teachers to Master grade and regularization of Incharge Lecturers/ Headmasters. Sharma said as per DSE Jammu’s order vide number DSEJ/NG/M/50551-60 Dated: 16-03-2022, only 1250 posts have been considered for promotion of teachers as masters. Stating that this number is negligible keeping in view the stagnation caused in last 8 years, he demanded to double the number of posts for DPC.
Sharma also demanded revision of pay scales for teaching fraternity at par with the pay scales in other UTs of India like Delhi. He said that the employees are only getting the allowances but their pay scales haven’t been revised at par with other UTs so far.
He also asserted on framing a transparent/rational/uniform transfer policy for all cadres of teaching fraternity including erstwhile RRETs. He said the transfer policy so framed should be uniform for all the officials of School Education Department irrespective of their mode of appointment as ‘mode of appointment’ can’t be a ground for not executing transfers.
Others present in the press conference were Rakesh Kumar (State executive member), Pawan Kumar Sharma (media prabhari), Rahul Sharma (secretary, district Jammu) and Jasmeet Singh Madaan (vice president, Jammu district).
