JAMMU, June 12: Police in Jammu’s RS Pura today successfully arrested an absconder who had been evading arrest for a staggering 17 years.
The absconder, identified as Anil Kumar, son of Sat Paul and a resident of Badyal Qazian RS Pura, had been on the run in connection with a case registered under FIR No. 74/2006 U/Ss 341/323/147/148 RPC of PS R.S Pura.
Acting on reliable information received through various sources, the police teams of PS R S Pura, led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna and assisted by SHO RS Pura Inspector Pawan Kumar and incharge BPP Chakroi PSI Ishfaq Ahmed Kasana, conducted extensive efforts and finally succeeded in apprehending the notorious absconder.
It is noteworthy that a warrant under Section 512 CrPC had also been issued against him by the JMIC.
The arrested absconder was subsequently produced before the Court.
