JAMMU, Mar 28: Police claimed today that they have arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest for the past five years.
A police spokesperson said that one Mohammad Sadiq of Dak Banglow, Maralian, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu, who was involved in case FIR number 42/2019 under sections 353/341/336/427 of RPC and 4/25 of the Arms Act registered at Police Station Miran Sahib, was evading his arrest since registration of FIR against the accused.
Today, on specific information, the police spokesperson said that a team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO concerned, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, Surinder Singh and overall supervision of SP Headquarters, Ramnish Gupta, arrested the accused and produced him before the Additional Special Mobile Magistrate RS Pura.
“He shall remain in judicial custody,” the spokesperson further said.
