DODA, Mar 9: Police here today arrested an absconder after 28 years.
A handout of Police Department stated that Abdul Latif, son of Abdul Majid, resident of Behota, Tehsil Marmat in Doda was wanted in a case of FIR number 103/1997 U/S 302/307 RPC 7/27 Arms Act.
The accused was declared as absconder on December 22, 1997 by the Court of law and general warrant under Section 512 Cr.P.C was issued against him.
The absconder was evading his arrest since 1997 and to arrest him a special team was constituted on the directions of senior officers headed by PSI Ankush, Incharge Police Post Bhagwa under the guidance of SHO Police Station Doda, Inspector Padam Dev Singh and Dy. SP Hqrs Doda, Ajay Anand and under the overall supervision of SSP Doda, Javaid Iqbal.
The special team after hectic efforts traced the absconder and finally arrested him from Kathua and he shall be produced before the Court of law on next date of working for trial.
