JAMMU, Dec 3: Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed today they have arrested an individual who was evading his arrest for the past 5 years.
Ramesh Kumar of Bala Chak, RS Pura, was wanted in case FIR number 108/2016 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Satwari, a police official said.
He absconded five years after the commissioning of the crime in 2019, he said.
The accused was arrested today by a team of Police Station Satwari led by SHO concerned Inspector Sushil Kumar Sharma under the supervision of SDPO City South Kartik Shrotriya and SP City South Ajay Sharma.
The accused will now be produced in the court of law and the arrest warrant under section 299 BNSS issued against him will be executed, added the police official.
