JAMMU, Dec 31: Police here today arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest for the last nine years.
Giving details in this regard Police sources informed that the absconder Mohd Amran Malla, son of Mohd Afzal Malla, resident of Harpura, tehsil Kokernag, Anantnag was involved in a theft case registered in FIR number 185/2014 U/S 457/380 RPC at Police Station Doda.
Challan for the case was produced in the year 2015 and the accused was declared as an absconder by the Court and general warrant of arrest under Section 299 Cr.PC was also issued against him but he was evading his arrest since 2016.
On the directions of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, a special team was constituted which was headed by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, SHO Doda and duly assisted by PSI Ankush Nagra.
The team generated sources and used technical lead to track down the absconder and finally arrested him from Jammu.
The accused person is being produced before the Court.
SSP Doda has asked all the absconders to either surrender before the concerned Courts and avoid humiliation or they will be chased, arrested and produced before the Courts shortly.
