JAMMU, Dec 10: An absconder, who was evading his arrest since long has landed into police net.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station apprehended an absconder, who was evading for more than 20 years.
The accused has been identified as Suraj Singh alias Suraj Gorkha, son of Vir Bhadur Singh of Nai Basti Satwari.
He was wanted in cases registered under FIR Number 336/1991 under Sections 307, 324, 34 RPC and FIR Number 494/1995 under Section 353 RPC with Gandhi Nagar Police Station. The arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC also stands issued against him by the Court of 2nd Additional Session Judge and Sub Judge Jammu. The arrested absconder is also a history sheeter of Police Station Gandhi Nagar and was involved in a various attempt to murder, stabbing cases.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
