JAMMU, Aug 14: Gandhi Nagar police arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest since long.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar police station conducted raid and arrested an absconder, who was at large since December 11, 2014.
The accused has been identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Sonu, son of Lok Nath, a resident of Jawahar Nagar, New Plot.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 244/2001 under Sections 279 and 337 RPC with police station Gandhi Nagar. Arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC also stands issued against him by Ist Additional Munsif Forest Magistrate Jammu.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Ritesh Samyal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
