RAJOURI, Feb 25: Rajouri Police today arrested an absconder who was evading arrest for last one year.
The absconder has been identified as Mohammad Waheed son of Abdul Qayoom, a resident of village Dodaj in Darhal tehsil of Rajouri district.
During questioning, he disclosed his involvement in an NDPS Act case registered at Banihal police station last year in which 10 quintals poppy straw was seized from a truck of which he was the owner as well as driver.
He was evading arrest for last one year and the Court had issued a warrant of Section 299 CrPC against him.
The absconder was arrested by a police party headed by Probationer Sub Inspector Jatinder Sharma under the supervision of SHO Fareed Ahmed and Deputy SP Headquarters Rajouri Chanchal Singh.
