JAMMU, Mar 14: Crime Branch Jammu nabbed an absconder who was evading arrest for the last seven years and had been hiding in Jalandhar.
The accused, identified as Sandeep Gupta of Ashok Nagar, Nai Basti Satwari Jammu, was wanted in case FIR number 07/2006/U/S 420 RPC, 138 NI Act at Crime Branch Jammu.
He had allegedly charged Rs one lakh from Ved Bhushan Seth of Gandhi Nagar for arranging admission to the latter’s son in a Pune based college in 2004. However, Sandeep Gupta neither arranged the admission nor returned the money following which Ved Bhushan lodged a complaint with the Crime Branch.
