JAMMU, Nov 28: Jammu Police has successfully apprehended an absconder who had been evading arrest since 2016.
The individual, identified as Surjeet Kumar, son of Mohinder Lal and a resident of Salehar, was wanted in connection with a case registered under FIR Number 50/16 under Sections 323, 325, 147, and 149 of the RPC at Police Station Bishnah.
The arrest was carried out by a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Bishnah Insp Sushil Choudhary and supervised by SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters. Kumar had been on the run since committing the crime in 2016, avoiding multiple attempts to bring him to justice.
As per official sources, Surjeet Kumar will now be presented in court, and the arrest warrant issued against him under Section 299 CrPC will be duly executed. The Police’s successful operation marks a significant step in addressing pending cases and ensuring justice.
