REASI, May 6: The Police has arrested a kidnapping and rape accused who was absconding since 2019.
Official sources said that accused Mohd Tahir, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, resident of Bagga in Mahore was absconding in a case FIR No. 41/2019 dated 29/07/2019 U/S 363, 376-D, 343, 452, RPC, 4- Pocso Act, Police Station Chassana, after Commission of crime in 2019.
Accused evaded investigation by going underground and couldn’t be apprehended since the registration of FIR in 2019 as he was changing his hideouts. A warrant under section 512 CrPC was issued by Reasi court against the accused on December 11, 2019.
The police team is on the hunt to apprehend another accused absconding in the said case, whereas accused Nazir Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed, Ghulam Qadir, all sons of Abdul Samad; Farid Ahmed, son of Bahar Din, all residents of Bagga Mahore and Abdul Qayoom, son of Nizam Din, resident of Bagankot, Chassana were already arrested.
This is the arrest of 9th absconder by Reasi police under the command of SSP Reasi Shailender Singh within a period of three weeks time.
